Press Release: TLC Staff Member Honored With Prestigious Award
Tuscaloosa, Alabama
February 13, 2019
Deborah Anders of The Legacy Connection, a Tuscaloosa-based telecommunications company has been named recipient of the Barbara Bradbury Pay it Forward Mentoring Award. Anders accepted the award at the 54th Annual Canadian Call Management Association (CAM-X) Convention and Trade Show at Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. CAM-X is an industry trade association for the call management industry, which includes call centers, telephone answering, voice-mail and other communication services.
“Being chosen to receive the award was truly an honor,” Anders said. “I have been blessed, both in my personal life and my career with some amazing people to follow and look up to, that have taught me the value of sharing and giving back.”
She continued, “When I learned that I had been chosen as this year’s recipient, I was speechless. Hearing the supervisors who nominated me talk about my influence on them was truly humbling. They have no idea that I gain so much more from them and the people around me than I could ever give back. As Winston Churchill once said, ‘We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.’ Thank you to Robin Bailey and the Legacy Connection team as well as the CAM-X membership for being part of my ‘life’ and allowing me to be a part of such an amazing group.”
According to Gary Blair, a member of CAM-X, the award was created upon Barbara Bradbury’s retirement. He noted her commitment to mentoring agents, supervisors, managers and owners was unprecedented in the field of telecommunications. He explained, “Such generosity of spirit, knowledge and business acumen and an unlimited willingness to share it could only be properly honored by the creation of the Barbara Bradbury Pay It Forward Mentoring Award.”
